The nature of your body is freedom.

The low back and hips are usually an area that a lot of us hold tension in, and they often send us messages that don't feel so comfortable. So in this practice, we really direct our attention to what feels good. What feels pleasant and at ease? What feels better? What feels different?

Everything happens on the floor. We open up the neck, low back, and sacrum with gentle cranial-sacral movements, slide and glide through the hips without lifting the legs, and let the knees swing side to side like water. Then, lying on the belly, we see what it's like to let the ground support us. As I say in my book, stillness is never really still. Your body may not be in motion, but your inner body always is.

The nature of your body is to not be held tightly. It doesn't want to contract all the time. The nature of your body is freedom and openness. This practice is your opportunity to move away from image and back into your sensing, feeling body, with curiosity and compassion, without criticism or judgment.
